Mrs. Evelyn Haas, 68 of 1505 Athens St, Crawfordsville died at 12:10 am Sunday in Culver Hospital. She and her husband had lived on a farm northeast of Waynetown until 1963 when his failing health caused them to move to Crawfordsville. Mrs. Haas had been an employee of Culver Hospital. She was a member of Alamo Christian Church and Alamo Ladies Aid. She was born April 7, 1907 in the Alamo area, a daughter of John and Aggie Smith Fruits. She married Austin Haas of Waynetown Feb 1, 1930. He died January 1965. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Ivan Eppert of Crawfordsville, Carl Fruits of Lake Holiday; a sister, Mrs. Logora Selby of Alamo; six grandchildren; two nieces, a nephew. Three grandchildren and an infant sister are deceased. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with Rev. Hugh Dooley officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
